LaSalle is a small town with a big-city name. It was incorporated in 1910 and named after LaSalle Street in Chicago, and its post office dates back to 1886. Today it is a quiet community just south of Evans, served by the Weld RE-1 school district.
LaSalle has a lot of older homes, and many of them have wood decks that have been through decades of Colorado weather.
What LaSalle decks need
LaSalle sits at about 4,679 feet in the South Platte valley, south of Greeley. The most common deck problems we see here are:
- Boards that have rotted, split, or turned soft

How we approach older decks
We look at the whole deck before recommending anything. Soft boards can mean soft joists underneath, and a wobbly railing usually means loose or rotted framing where the post attaches. We repair what failed and keep what is still sound. If the deck was built without real footings, we can add them, dug at least 30 inches deep to stay below the frost line.
When a deck is past saving, we tear it out, haul it away, and rebuild it right.
