Mead calls itself “a little town with a big future.” It was platted in 1906 and named for Dr. Martin S. Mead, and it has grown steadily with newer communities like Sorrento in the Liberty Mead area. The town also owns the recreation rights to Highland Lake, where Lorin Mead Park sits.
Mead sits just over 5,000 feet, southwest of Greeley near I-25. At that elevation the sun is strong, and decks feel it.
What Mead decks go through
Many Mead decks are on newer homes, and the most common problems are about wear, not rot:

Permits and footings
Mead has its own town building department. New decks and structural repairs usually need a permit. Footings in this part of Weld County need to reach at least 30 inches below grade. We check the rules for your address before work starts.
